Pumpkin Pie latte

This freshly-brewed, wildly cheap version of the pumpkin spice latte can be warming your hands and your spirits any time you please–even after the coffee shops close, and without an coffee machine. The directions below are for one latte, but the ingredients priced out will make about a week’s worth of homemade lattes.

Ingredients

1/2 cup whole milk/ low fat milk

1/2 tbsp pumpkin puree (check for homemade puree)

1 tsp brown sugar/ white granulated

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1/8 tsp Pumpkin Spice Mix ( check for Homemade Spice Mix)

1/2 cup Strong Coffee

Whipping Cream

Nutmeg Powder to sprinkle

Method

Combine milk, pumpkin puree, brown sugar in a sauce pan and and heat over medium high heat. Whisk thoroughly to combine ingredients. Once the pumpkin milk mixture begins to steam, reduce heat to low, add pumpkin spice mix and vanilla extract, then turn off. Stir with the whisk/ hand blender.

Prepare your strong coffee in hot water transfer to the serving glass. Slowly pour this pumpkin mixture to the coffee to fill the cup almost to the top. Top with whip cream and sprinkle on nutmeg.
